The Chutetsujizobosatsu statue which is enshrined in the Kamajizodera is called the “Kamajizo” and was made approximately 300 hundred years ago.
One of six famous Jizo statues of the Owari area, it was designated as a Prefectural Cultural Asset in June 1960.
The deity of this shrine is Oshin Tenno and since this shrine was rebuilt in 1470, it is believed that the shrine was first built approximately 80 years earlier. The main hall of the Hachiman Shrine is constructed in the Ikkensha architectural style and is one of the ten oldest shrines in Japan. The shrine was designated as a Prefectural Cultural Asset in October 1966.
The surroundings of Okutsu Shrine in Senbiki include an ancient mound built in the middle of the 4th century which has a diameter of 25 m and a height of 3.3 m. In addition to three ancient mirrors (triangular decorated with mythical animals) (designated as a Prefectural Cultural Asset in 1977), pottery from the middle of the Yayoi period and Haji pottery have been unearthed. The triangular mythical animal mirrors have their name due to the fact that there is an engraved relief of gods in the form of animals encircling the inner side of the holding knob.
